After studying viticulture in Beaune, Philippe joined the family business in 1988, where they worked together for 16 years on 18 hectares. In 2004, after his father retired, he began making his own wine in Chassagne. A few years later, he purchased Topiary Wine Estate and has since divided his time between France and South Africa.
Carlo Popolillo
Farm Manager
Since 2019, Carlo has been part of the Topiary team as farm manager. Having grown up in the Paarl region, he knows the Franschhoek terroir inside out and brings years of hands-on experience to his role. His dedication, deep understanding of the land, and attention to detail ensure the vineyards are nurtured with care throughout the year.
Laure Passot
Technical Manager
Laure's study of viticulture and oenology led her to gain experience in world-renowned wineries in France and abroad as a winemaker before joining Topiary in 2024.
